We were appointed Code Assessors for a development of 54 new social houses in Bridport, Dorset. The renewable energy study aimed to achieve Code 3, but via our value engineering process which explored wider cost efficiency considerations (such as better options for the fabric of building and insulation values), as well as the size of renewable installations, we delivered a Code 4 standard for no extra cost.
Our assessment has helped create a better product that provides lower energy bills and helps reduce fuel poverty for occupants. In future our assessment could enable Magna to achieve Code 4 for same cost as Code 3, and therefore meet 2011 Code targets in advance.
